Hey team. I'm trying to add an external guide to the community studio but it's asking for a slug? Do I need to add one for a guide that is posted elsewhere? Thanks.

The slug is essentially a part of your guide's URL so you will need to add that. I however, do not fully understand what you are doing in this case? Are you trying to create an external guide but the content lives in a different URL? What is the use-case?

Hey, Urvashi. The guide has already been created: https://www.freecodecamp.org/news/how-to-build-a-portfolio-site-with-sanity-and-nextjs/
I'm trying to share it to the community guide and when you click on the post, it will take you to the original article.

Here's an example guide uploaded to Sanity but redirects to the original post when clicked.

Ah that makes sense. Thanks for clarifying ๐Ÿ‘ I am not a 100% sure but perhaps you can try adding a slug and see if the post redirects to the link listed under the External link?

Hi
user A
, it seems like the external link is used as the URL when you navigate via the list of guides . As such, if a guide has an external link, like in your case, even though the slug is necessary during the creation, it should skip the slug entry and follow the external link instead.(Also, I can see your guide in the list now and it links correctly to the external URL)
Thanks!
