How can I disable live updating the content in the CMS?

Do you mean syncing the changes to the datastore?

Yeah 🙂

You can't – sort of defeats the purpose?
What are you trying to solve?

I am just writing texts in the CMS instead of copy pasting it. I just realized every keystroke is an API request and trying to be cost effective

(Not trying to get anything for free, but if I keep on going like this it will get too expensive for me really quickly)

Aha – we're soon switching the studio over to websockets which will drastically reduce the API requests in the studio.
I'm curious though: have you calculated how expensive it will be, and how quick?

I can have a day with 20k. I am not sure yet how consistent that will be, but 25k are $1 extra. So let’s say I am at 10k keystrokes average per day and will land at ~300k/month, that’s $8/month just for typing the content online.

Interesting – thanks! Thankfully, the remedy is not that far off.

(obviously, with expensive I don’t mean I can’t handle $8/month, but put into context with paying them for typing text)
Apr 26, 2020, 10:15 PM
Gotcha!
Apr 26, 2020, 10:16 PM
Thanks for the heads up 🙂 Much appreciated!

Interesting. I was planning on asking about this as well. Just playing around with studio for a few minutes and racked up 500 api requests. A little surprised that a) it is updating in the background - you can just have the page open and you are eating api calls, and b) that it even counts api calls when you are on localhost or at least haven't even deployed yet.
