Uploading photos in documents using JavaScript library

Hello guys, is there an option to upload a photo when creating a document using the javascript library? Or should the photo be uploaded to assets first and then used creating document? But here is the problem, I do not know how to create an "object" of the photo using the javascript library. Is this possible?
