Create has a new name – Canvas – and is available right now for all users in Sanity Dashboard.

Canvas has been redesigned to be a first class citizen of Sanity Dashboard, which is the hub for your organization's content operations.

Using Canvas to drive content creation in the Studio is now even simpler – once you've deployed a Studio to Dashboard with a compatible version of Sanity Studio (<=3.88.1), that studio and its document types will automatically appear in Canvas as valid targets for content mapping.

Recent versions of Sanity Studio (<=3.88.1) now offer a more streamlined interface for working with Canvas.

It's now possible to publish Canvas-linked Studio documents, as well as add them to your Content Releases.

We've also added support for linking Studio documents with existing content to Canvas – you no longer need an empty document to kick this process off from the Studio.

Author Canvas documents that available only to you, or securely share them with team members or even the entire organization with granular access control.

Document load times have been improved across the board – getting into your documents should now be faster than ever.

We've also shipped a number of improvements to our underlying Portable Text editor that improver overall stability and consistency with editing operations.
