Automatic drift correction in Sanity Connect
Sanity Connect runs a daily background reconciliation loop that catches and repairs any differences between your Shopify store and your Sanity dataset.
Sanity Connect runs a background reconciliation loop for every connected shop. When a webhook is missed or delayed, data in your dataset can drift from what is in Shopify. Drift correction catches and repairs that automatically, with no action required from you or your customers.
Once a day, Sanity Connect fetches everything that has changed in Shopify since the last run and compares it against your dataset. Any differences are repaired, including updates, deletions, and records a webhook failed to deliver. Only changed records are fetched, so the process is lightweight regardless of catalog size.
New shops enroll automatically. There is nothing to enable.
Monitoring
The Logs tab in the Sanity Connect app (in Shopify admin) shows a record of recent runs. Each entry shows when the run completed and, if it failed, a plain-language explanation of why.
If a shop's runs fail repeatedly, contact Sanity support with the log details.
Limitations
Shops using a custom sync handler are not included. Because custom handlers process incoming data in ways Sanity cannot predict, re-delivering the same records could cause duplication or validation errors. See Custom sync handlers for Sanity Connect for more information.
Adjusting the schedule
The default reconciliation interval is once a day. If you need a different cadence contact Sanity support.
