How to recover Sanity account access without login credentials or reset email
This is definitely a frustrating situation! Since you're still logged in on one browser instance, there are a few things you can try to recover your account information:
Finding your email address
From manage.sanity.io: If your logged-in browser session is still active, navigate to manage.sanity.io and check your account settings/profile page. This should display the email address associated with your account. You can also see which login provider you used (Google, GitHub, email/password, etc.).
Using the CLI:
If you have the Sanity CLI installed and authenticated on your machine, you can run the sanity whoami command in your terminal. This will show you the email address associated with your currently authenticated CLI session.
Check localStorage: In your logged-in browser session, you can inspect the browser's localStorage (open Developer Tools > Application/Storage > Local Storage) and look for Sanity-related tokens or session data that might contain your email address.
About password reset emails
Password reset emails from Sanity typically come from a noreply@ address. Make sure to:
- Check your spam/junk folder thoroughly
- Look for emails from Sanity.io or noreply addresses
- Wait a bit longer - sometimes there can be delays
Multiple login providers
Based on similar cases in the Sanity community, a common issue is using different login providers (Google, GitHub, email/password). If you created your account with Google or GitHub login rather than email/password, the password reset flow won't work - you need to log in using that same OAuth provider.
Contact Sanity support
If none of these work, your best bet is to contact Sanity support directly at security@sanity.io or reach out on the Sanity Community Discord. They can help you recover your account access with proper verification.
