About the project

This is my portfolio and blog. I'm a Melbourne analyst who builds, so the site holds case studies, field notes on analysis methods and a few interactive data projects.

The front end is Astro on Netlify, and everything else lives in Sanity: articles, case studies, the homepage and blog categories. Publishing in Sanity triggers a Netlify rebuild, so changes go live in a few minutes without touching code.

A few things worked well. Articles reference a category document, and the category pages build themselves from those references, so a new post lands in the right place automatically. Each document has its own SEO fields, and the structured data is generated from the same content, so search metadata can't drift from what's on the page. Articles have two layouts: a standard one, and a "data story" layout for chart-led pieces like my Melbourne foot traffic analysis. Case studies are assembled from reusable sections (text, gallery, outcomes, lessons), which keeps them consistent without forcing every project into the same shape.
