Morrow Studio started as a self-initiated design and engineering exercise to explore how far I could push an editorial portfolio while keeping the content system flexible for real client use.
The challenge was to build something highly art-directed without hard-coding every case study. I designed a modular project system in Sanity with reusable content blocks, desktop/mobile-specific editorial controls, image galleries, credits, quotes, project sequencing and live draft previews through Presentation.
I also customized the Studio itself so it feels client-facing rather than developer-facing, with clearer groups, human-readable controls, better previews and guidance for mobile overrides and unresolved media.
The frontend was built in Next.js and refined against desktop and mobile design references, with responsive layouts, motion, accessibility and reduced-motion support.
The biggest lesson was learning where presentation logic should live in code versus where editorial control belongs in the CMS. The final result is a fully CMS-driven portfolio that remains visually expressive without sacrificing editor usability.
