The Briger Foundation for Oncology Research funds and runs research to substantially improve the prognosis of uterine leiomyosarcoma (uLMS), a rare and aggressive cancer. We designed the brand identity and built the website.
The site had to explain a complex scientific mission, convey urgency without sensationalism, and invite collaboration from oncologists, researchers and patients. We worked closely with the Foundation’s scientists, who reviewed the content throughout design and build.
At the heart of the identity is a three-oval ‘stepping stones’ mark for steady progress toward a cure. Instead of clinical stock photography, the site uses a customizable system of textured, abstract illustration with light animation, so it feels humane and hopeful while keeping its scientific credibility.
Content, including research updates and cited references, is managed in Sanity, with a Next.js front end.
