Request to change account to current version of tier due to incorrect asset allowance.

Been getting notifications that I have gone over the free tier. I was quite surprised.
Analytics showed I had far less asset allowance than I thought I did.

Then I saw it was a legacy tier. Indeed, I saw on the pricing page that I was supposed to have a far bigger allowance.

How would I get the account changed to the current version of the tier?

Thanks

I understand your frustration about hitting limits on what you thought was the current free tier. If you're seeing notifications about being on a "legacy tier" with lower asset allowances than what's shown on the current pricing page, here's how to get upgraded:

The good news: Sanity typically doesn't automatically downgrade existing projects. If you're on a legacy free plan, you should be able to upgrade to the current free tier yourself, which comes with more generous quotas.

How to upgrade your account:

  1. Go to Manage - This is where all your project and billing settings live
  2. Select your project from the list
  3. Click on the "Plan" tab in the project settings
  4. Look for an option to upgrade to the current free plan

According to the Plans and Payments documentation, when you're on a legacy plan, you should see options to switch to newer plans. The documentation states: "From time to time we may make changes to our plan offerings, but you will remain on your original plan unless you choose to switch to a newer plan yourself."

If you don't see an upgrade option:

The best approach is to reach out to Sanity support directly. They can:

  • Confirm what legacy tier you're currently on
  • Manually migrate you to the current free tier with the correct asset allowances
  • Answer any questions about your specific usage and limits

Important to know:

The current free tier includes significantly better quotas than older legacy tiers, especially for assets and bandwidth. When you upgrade, the new quotas should take effect immediately, and any plan changes happen right away without waiting periods.

Since you're already seeing overage notifications, it's worth reaching out to support sooner rather than later - they're generally helpful about these situations, especially when it's about moving from a legacy tier to the current offering.

In sanity.io/manage , you should see the ability to select the new free plan under the Plan tab -> Change Plan
Worked. Thanks!
Excellent!
